Here is a map of the Skye Railway!

So it technically starts at Edinbane where the locomotives, carriages, wagons and workshops are. From there it heads West to Dunvegan where the locomotive on the train runs round before proceeding further. Then it flows downwards to Broadford before coming to a stop at Kyleakin where the locomotive runs round for the second time. After a little bit of deja-vu, the line serves Portree before heading up to Uig where the train is run round for the third and final time per-trip and heads down (stopping at Portree again) and returning to Edinbane. 'The Mineral' is the only train the goes past Edinbane to Waternish so it is a common route for No. 4 'Ivan' although when she is not available, No. 3 'Margaret' is known to take her place. 'The Mineral' covers all the line delivering and picking up goods and then finally stopping for the day at Edinbane where it is shunted away until morning and No. 4 is given a well deserved rest overnight.
