SRWS No. 5: James the Branch Line Engine: Part IV
James, as you know, was enjoying branch line life and Bear was beginning to adapt too. While the red engine mostly ran the passenger services, the diesel engine operated the goods services which often took him to the big station where he would catch up on all the news and chat to his friends that his missed working alongside. On one particular morning, however, as his Driver tried to start him up, his engine coughed and spluttered.
"Ah well," his Driver sighed, "I suppose all new engines get water in them eventually "
"Water?" asked Bear, "I hate it when people contaminate fuel. Ugh!"
There was another problem though who would take the early morning goods?
"The passenger service isn't due until around the time he would get back, so how's about James?" asked the Stationmaster.
James' eyes opened, wide.
"Me? A goods train? You've got to be kidding!" he yawned smugly.
